How does ownership work?
You and a group of people share the purchase cost of the use of a
vacation accommodation, in increments of one week (or more) per year. For
example, there are 51-week owners with one week left vacant for maintenance.
This guarantees your ability to use that accommodation during the period of
time you own, in this case the 30th week at the end of July.
This timeshare resort is affiliated with the international umbrella
organization, RCI. Membership
allows the timeshare owner to exchange their week to travel anytime, any place
in the world as per the RCI Directory. For longer vacations, you have the option
of depositing multiple weeks or, recently one can trade weeks for RCI points.
With the points system, instead of exchanging by the ownership week value, any
number of nights and size of unit can be selected if youÕve accumulated enough
points. The timeshare types you can exchange for or purchase with points are
hotel rooms, condos, cabins, luxury houses, castles, yachts, cruises, RVÕs,
houseboats, and even private jets. This timeshare unit is a week exchange but
is eligible for transfer to the points system worth up to 40,000 points per
week.
How do you buy this timeshare week?
The certificate of
ownership is transferred upon purchase, and I inform the timeshare resort, Club
Vacances Toutes Saisons in writing. The certificate states 2056 as the
termination of ownership. You can pass it on as part of your estate, gift or
sell it. Unlike a timeshare ownership in the U.S., there are no complications
of property taxes, as your purchase does not involve a land deed. It is a time
usage agreement with a comparatively small annual maintenance
