Final Cut Pro. GarageBand. Photoshop. These are only a few colors in the spectrum available for creation at your workstation. Moving beyond these traditional pieces of software this session will broaden your perspectives towards an array of alternative tools for video, image and sound manipulation (open source and commercial software) for installation and performance. This session will also involve a detailed look of two popular open source programs, Processing and Pure Data, to examine their different approaches to custom computer programming: text based and visual computing.
This session will provide great background for more in-depth Workshops in Modul8 and Pure Data, but is not a pre-requisite.
