Treaty Adherence

BAHRAIN
Bahrain is party to the 1961 Convention on Narcotic Drugs, as amended by the 1972 Protocol, the 1971 Convention on Psychotropic Substances and the 1988 Convention Against Illicit Traffic in Drugs and Psychotropic Substances.

EGYPT
Egypt is party to the 1961 Convention on Narcotic Drugs, as amended by the 1972 Protocol, the 1971 Convention on Psychotropic Substances and the 1988 Convention Against Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances.

IRAQ
Iraq is party to the 1961 Convention as amended by the 1972 Protocol and the 1971 Convention. Regarding accession to the 1988 Convention, an Inter-ministerial Committee was set up in 1988 for the purpose of examining the 1988 Convention and Iraq's accession to it. In 1989, Iraq reported that "final steps" were being taken.

IRAN
Iran is party to the 1961 Convention on Narcotic Drugs, and the 1988 Convention Against Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances.

ISRAEL
Israel is party to the 1961 Convention as amended by the 1972 Protocol and the 1971 Convention. It signed the 1988 Convention in December 1988 and has taken steps aimed at bringing domestic legislation in line with the Convention, particularly laws on confiscation of money and all other assets obtained directly or indirectly from a drug-related crime. Legislation has also been prepared in the area of international cooperation.

KUWAIT
Kuwait is party to the 1961 Convention on Narcotic Drugs as amended by the 1972 Protocol and the 1971 Convention on Psychotropic Substances.

OMAN
Oman is party to the 1961 Convention on Narcotic Drugs, as amended by the 1972 Protocol, and the 1988 Convention Against Illicit Traffic in Drugs and Psychotropic Substances.

PAKISTAN
Pakistan is party to the 1961 Convention on Narcotic Drugs, the 1971 Convention on Psychotropic Substances and the 1988 Convention Against Illicit Traffic in Drugs and Psychotropic Substances.

QATAR
Qatar is party to the 1961 Convention on Narcotic Drugs, as amended by the 1972 Protocol, the 1971 Convention on Psychotropic Substances and the 1988 Convention Against Illicit Traffic in Drugs and Psychotropic Substances.

SAUDI ARABIA
Saudi Arabia is party to the 1961 Convention on Narcotic Drugs, the 1971 Convention on Psychotropic Substances, and the 1988 Convention Against Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances.

SYRIA

Syria is party to the 1961 Convention on Narcotic Drugs, as amended by the 1972 Protocol, the 1971 Convention on Psychotropic Substances, and the 1988 Convention Against Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances.
