Carl Stewart

Carl Stewart was born and raised on Prince Edward Island.

In 1988 he moved to Ottawa. He has been a member of the Enriched Bread Artists since 1997.

Recent exhibitions include: Relative, Ottawa Art Gallery (Ottawa, 2006); fragments, O'Connor Gallery, (Toronto, 2005); remnant, Pukka Gallery (Ottawa, 2005); HOMEsweetHOMO, galleryX, (Toronto, 2005); Dark Cloth, Textile Museum of Canada, (Toronto, 2004).

In 2007 he will present that bright and beautiful life at the Confederation Centre of the Arts in Charlottetown, PE.

He has received funding from the Canada Council for the Arts, City of Ottawa, and the Ontario Arts Council.

His work hangs in the collections of the City of Ottawa, The Canada Council Art Bank and the Leslie-Lohman Gay Art Foundation, New York.
