Organizers of the CLIC Eastern Ontario Photo Show & Sale invite photographers who reside throughout Eastern Ontario to share their love of photography by entering up to 3 images for show consideration by June 15th, 2012.
Established in 2010 to celebrate photography as an art form, the annual event has been a huge success attracting hundreds of submissions from photographers and thousands of visitors to the show since it began.
Presented by The Prince Edward County Arts Council and Photo Life Magazine, the third annual juried show and sale will take place from August 4th to 12th, 2012 in the second floor gallery above Books & Company at 289 Main Street in Picton, Ontario (Prince Edward County).
Any professional or amateur photographers who own or rent property within the show’s catchment area, and any student photographers who attend high school, college or university or any other institution of higher learning within the area, may enter. The Eastern Ontario catchment area is from the Northern Ontario/Quebec border to Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River in the south, and from Petawawa to Port Hope and all areas east of this line in Ontario.
Professional photographers, John De Visser of Cobourg and Phil Norton of Picton, and Curator, Susan Holland of the John Parrott Gallery in Belleville, have been named as jurors for the 2012 show. Immediately following the deadline, the jurors will select photographs for the show and sale. Before the show opens on Opening Day (August 4th), jurors will review all of the framed photographs in the show and select award-winners in the Adult and Student divisions for both Colour and Black and White categories. In addition, they will choose the “Best in Show” award, and a photographer to receive the “Doug Boult Award for Excellence in Photography”. Award winners will be announced later that evening at the Opening Ceremonies. All show visitors between August 5th-12th will be given a ballot to vote on the “People’s Choice Award” winner to be announced at the closing of the show on August 12th.
The Call for Entry, Official Rules and Entry Form can be downloaded from the show’s website: www.easternontariophotoshow.com. Photographers with questions, please call Sam Serrano at (613) 393-2276 or e-mail: eopsclicphoto@gmail.com. Entries must be postmarked no later than June 15th, 2012, and successful applicants will be notified by the end of June.
The Prince Edward County Arts Council (PECAC) is a registered non-profit organization that has charitable status. CLIC is also non-profit, and every dollar raised is used to produce the show.
