Call For Artists in Residence 2018 -2019 - Le Labo, centre for francophone media arts of Toronto
Thematic Residency: Augmented Virtuality
For the 2018-2019 season, Le Labo proposes a call to artists in residence. The selected candidates will develop a media arts project that will explore the possibilities of immersive image capture and presentation as a way to push the boundaries of digital creation.
In between the real and the virtual, immersive narratives are currently exploding the artistic landscape. Le Labo encourages bold proposals that break away from traditional definitions artistic practices. Francophone and francophile artists at all levels of their career development are invited to submit proposals.
To submit a project for consideration, the artists must meet the following critieria:
be Canadian francophone or francophile citizen or resident
be a practicing artist whose work combines some or all of the following disciplines: photography, video, sound, performance, installation, digital arts, visual arts, new media
the submission must be written in French
Le Labo is dedicated to supporting and encouraging all artists identifying as members of minority groups to apply.
Artists will be evaluation on the following criteria:
Viability and Impact of their proposal
Please note that the primary working language at the Labo is French and the resident artist will be expected to communicate fluently in this language.
