ARTIST'S STATEMENT

Our contemporary age is subjected to a pervasive reckoning with time, to duration as a precise mathematical construct. To apprehend human vagrancy, omnipresent media, and to contain the forces of centralism, the vampiric logic of technology and the world of digital artifice. An answer to ambiguous and rebellious conditions of overwrought, extravagant and mesmerizing context. To build the opposing image of a grievous convergence towards melancholy experimental spirituality.

Being reborn by thought or by pondering "that which exceeds the possibility of thinking." (Georges Bataille)  Beholding the breakdown of borders, of reality, sensing a leap into the future, an obligation to act and react.

Branded by time, caught up on a stage of absurdity and contradiction, of computerized impulse, isolated individuals seize on to instantaneous and approximate communications. They teeter, memory lost from events, from trends, from individual and collective disturbances.

"The eternal silence of those unbounded spaces frightens me." (Pascal)
