My artistic focus evolves from a poetic and emotional perspective and is founded in a lifelong fascination with the fragility of the human condition. As the emotional, intellectual and spiritual aspects of humankind are the subject of my work as an artist; the human figure, our worldly encasement, has remained in one form or another a constant. I strive to express the models relationship with self, their intimates, their placement in society and the resulting persona(s) developed.
An underlying aspect I wish to enhance in my painting is to bring the viewer to question the possibility of, or the searching for the Divine. Currently (2001) I am exploring symbols and iconography referred to in mythological, ritual and religious imagery.
In this I aim to eventually develop a stronger narrative aspect in my work.
