3x3, dans les anges Outaouais - Artengine - Dakar

Proposition "3 x 3, dans les anges" fait suite d'une proposition écrite d'Yvon Villarceaux à Artengine et à Dominique Fontaine une des commissaires de la M.A.P.A.(marché des arts plastiques africains) à l'occasion de la biennale de Dakar 98, Sénégal. Cela consistait à monter un système d'échanges interactives fait d'oeuvres originaux de trois artistes d'Ottawa et de 3 artistes Africains participants au M.A.P.A.

A proposal "3x3, dans les anges" grew out of a curatorial proposition by Yvon Villarceaux to Alexandre Castonguay of Artengine and to Dominique Fontaine, one of the curators for the MAPA (marché des arts plastiques africains) on the occasion of the Dak'Art 98 Biennale in Dakar, Senegal. It was intended to consist of an email exchange of original images by three artists from Ottawa and three African artists who were participating at the MAPA.

Rencontre virtuelle À partir de l'exposition des oeuvres originaux de tous les artistes sur le site "3x3 dans les anges" d'Artengine chacun d'entr'eux était inviter à choisir l'oeuvre d'un artiste de l'autre continent auquel il ou elle devait réagir électroniquement en faisant un dessin à l'ordinateur et de l' envoyer pour un montage final. Cette rencontre virtuelle se déroula le 3 mai 1998 entre Dakar, Sénégal et Hull, Canada. À Dakar nous avons pris rendez-vous au "Cyber business center", un centre télé du "Silicon Valley Computer Tech & services, lot 56 SODIDA", Sénégal.		Virtual encounters Starting from the exhibition of original work on Artengine's 3"x3 dans les anges" website gallery, each artist was invited to react electronically to the work of an artist from the other continent. A virtual meeting of all the artists took place on May 3 1998. Digital snapshots, scans of Ganesh, computer generated drawings and emails were sent.The meeting in Dakar took place at the Cyber business centre, Silicon Valley Computer Tech & services, lot 56 SODIDA, Sénégal.

Interactions et liens Ce projet révèle les multiples possibilités d'échange que contiennent les interactions entre les artistes séparés par de grandes distances. Aussi bien, "3 x3, dans les anges", fut une occasion de former le lien entre Artengine et Digital. Nous remercions Dominique Fontaine pour avoir créer ce lien. La galerie "3 x 3, dans les anges" a été construite par le technicien designer de Digital, Nicolae Rosca.		Interactions and partnerships The project introduced us to some of the exciting possibilities of artistic interaction across great distances. As well, "3 x 3, dans les anges" was an occasion to form links between Artengine and Digital. We thank Dominique Fontaine for creating this partnership. The gallery "3x3, dans les anges" was constructed by the designer-technician Nicolae Rosca from Digital.
Une annexe Le commissaire a ajouté une annexe à la galerie qui s'intitule "Électryvon" et qui consiste en une série de réactions faites de dessins et de collages électroniques adressée à tous les artistes participants et au constructeur de la galerie.		Annex The curator has added an annex to the gallery called "Electryvon". It consists of a series of visual reactions to all the participating artists and the builder of the gallery.
